How The Universe Works

Psalm 147:4 -- "He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name."

The Known Universe
I sat there glued to the telly, blazingly brilliant colors echoing off the walls as a real-life 3D map of our universe lit up before me. At least, I sat in awe of what we humans have been able to map, so far. We don't quite have the lens reach that we'd like to have in order to get a complete map worked up, and I don't wonder why.  Our universe is vast!

I was unable to look away as one of the talking heads on the History Channel tried to explain that our knowledge of the universe is limited to what "mother nature" has revealed to us at this point - and it blew me away - that the beauty before me was so easily attributed to dear 'ole mother nature. How in the world can one look upon all those billions of galaxies and NOT see the handy work of our Creator? Looking at the beautiful Sombrero Galaxy and Galaxy IC10 with it's stars that glow a pure gold, how could anybody DENY that our Creator is responsible?

The Sombrero Galaxy
I'll never understand how it's easier for some to believe in some phantom blast of energy than it is to recognize the work of God.

Psalm tells us plainly that God determines the number of stars that twinkle above us in the night sky - AND - He knows them each by name. Each one!!

Far beyond the tiny little GIANT map that we have been able to put on paper, God knows each cluster of galaxies by name - and He knows each star that makes up those galaxies!

The Milky Way
I look up at the brilliance that shines through the atmosphere of our tiny blue planet and I am in complete awe of our awesome, awesome, God!!
